Scorpio Full Moon – The Phoenix Rising 12th May 2025
There’s something brewing beneath the surface. You may already be feeling it — a deep emotional stirring, an itch for truth, an urge to shed layers. As we approach the Scorpio Full Moon on 12th May, this energy builds in momentum, inviting us into what may be the most potent full moon of the year.
Scorpio doesn’t play on the surface. It dives deep. And under the light of this full moon, we are invited to do the same.
🌑 The Build-Up: Days Before the Full Moon
In the days leading up to the full moon, expect to feel more sensitive, reflective, and perhaps even triggered. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto — the planet of death, rebirth, transformation, and the underworld. You may notice:
Old patterns surfacing for release
Hidden emotions rising from your subconscious
Increased intuition and vivid dreams
A sense of urgency around change or letting go
It’s common to feel heavier than usual in this phase, especially if you’ve been avoiding emotions or truths that need to be faced. This moon doesn’t let you stay in avoidance — it demands honesty, especially with yourself.
How to prepare:
Begin journaling, meditating, or simply observing what’s coming up. Make space for inner stillness so you can hear the deeper messages rising to the surface. Scorpio teaches us that transformation starts within.
🌕 The Full Moon: 12th May – A Portal of Power
On the night of the full moon, the veil between the conscious and subconscious is at its thinnest. Scorpio, the alchemist, asks us to honour the sacred process of death and rebirth.
You may feel:
Emotionally intense or raw
Magnetically drawn to truths or taboos
Called to release toxic attachments or control patterns
Deeply connected to your intuition or spiritual guides
Drawn to rituals, shadow work, or ancestral healing
This full moon is not just a moment — it’s a portal. One that can illuminate your inner landscape and guide you through powerful personal rebirths.
Suggested practices:
Burn old letters, journal pages, or symbols of what you’re ready to release
Take a ritual bath with salt and herbs like rosemary or mugwort
Work with obsidian, black tourmaline, or smoky quartz for grounding
Tune into a sound bath or guided meditation for deep clearing
Sit in ceremony with cacao or another heart-opening plant medicine
🌘 The Integration: Days After the Full Moon
After the peak comes the processing. As the moon begins to wane, it’s time to nurture yourself through what may feel like an emotional hangover — or, for some, a soul-level clarity.
You may find yourself needing:
Rest, solitude, or quiet reflection
Emotional support or heart-to-heart conversations
Creative expression to integrate what’s come up
Time in nature to ground back into your body
This is not a time to rush. Scorpio energy is deeply regenerative — allow yourself the grace to emerge slowly, like the phoenix rising from the ashes.
Ongoing support:
Use essential oils like frankincense, patchouli, or myrrh for emotional integration
Practice yoga or restorative breathwork
Revisit your journal entries and note any patterns or revelations
Stay hydrated, well-fed, and compassionate with yourself
🦂 The Scorpio Invitation: Radical Self-Honesty
This full moon is a mirror. It shows you what you’ve buried, what you fear, what you’ve outgrown — and it offers you the choice to transform.
Scorpio teaches that true empowerment comes not from controlling others or your environment, but from facing your own depths and learning to alchemise them into wisdom, strength, and freedom.
This moon is your chance to burn away the false, the stagnant, the expired — and step into a more raw, authentic, and spiritually aligned version of yourself.
Are you ready to surrender to the fire… and rise anew?
✨ Closing Thought
The Scorpio Full Moon is not for the faint of heart, but it is a sacred opportunity for rebirth. Honour whatever comes. Tend to your inner world with care. Trust that whatever is being illuminated is ready to be healed.
May this full moon be the catalyst that breaks you open — and sets you free.
With love – Penny xx
🌕 Scorpio Full Moon Mini Ritual
You’ll need:
A candle (black, white, or deep red if possible)
A journal and pen
A bowl of water or a warm bath
Optional: Obsidian, smoky quartz, or rose quartz
1. Set the scene.
Dim the lights. Light your candle. Take a few deep breaths to centre yourself.
2. Reflect.
Journal on:
What am I ready to release?
What truths am I being shown right now?
Where am I being called to transform?
3. Release.
Write down what you’re letting go of. Burn the paper (safely) or tear it into pieces and drop it into the water as a symbol of release.
4. Cleanse.
Take a bath or simply wash your hands with intention, imagining old energy dissolving down the drain.
5. Close.
Thank yourself, the moon, and any guides you work with. Snuff the candle. Sit in stillness and feel into what new energy might be emerging.
