🌧️ Blue Monday – Meeting the Blues with Gentleness & Grace 🌿

by | Jan 19, 2026 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

Today is what’s often referred to as “Blue Monday” — the third Monday of January — a time that’s gained a reputation for carrying a collective heaviness.
A day when many people feel a little more tired, flat, disheartened or unsure… even if they can’t quite say why.

And whether you believe in the label or not, there is something deeply human and seasonal about this moment.

We are still in winter.
The festive lights have faded.
The year is stretching out ahead, not yet fully formed.
The body is often slower, the heart a little more tender.

So first… let’s normalise this.
If today feels harder than usual, that does not mean anything is wrong with you.
It may simply mean you are listening.

🌬️ Are These Feelings Yours… or Are You Feeling the World?

For those of you who are sensitive, empathic, intuitive souls (which I know many of you are), there is another layer to consider.

Sometimes what we feel is not purely personal.
We are swimming in a collective emotional field — and January carries a lot:
pressure, resolutions, financial stress, uncertainty, grief, hope, comparison, fatigue.

So gently ask yourself:

Is this truly mine… or am I sensing what is moving through the collective?

If it doesn’t feel like it belongs to you, try this simple practice:

Returning What Is Not Yours
Take a slow breath.
Place one hand on your heart, one on the earth (or imagine the earth beneath you).
And softly say:
“Anything I am carrying that is not mine, I now return to the Earth to be composted into something good.”
Let the earth recycle it into nourishment, wisdom, and renewal.

Notice what softens.

🌱 And If It Is Yours… Let’s Meet It with Kindness

If what you’re feeling is yours, then it deserves compassion, not fixing.

You don’t need to leap into positivity.
You don’t need to override it.
You don’t need to “get over it”.

You simply need to be with yourself honestly and gently.

Some loving reminders:

💛 You are not behind
💛 You are not broken
💛 You are not failing
💛 You are in a human body, in winter, in a changing world

And that is allowed to feel tender sometimes.

🌿 Small Ways to Support Yourself Today

Not grand gestures. Just kind, doable, soul-honouring choices:

• Step outside, even briefly — let your eyes meet the sky
• Drink something warm and nourishing
• Move your body gently, not to improve it, but to inhabit it
• Lower your expectations for today
• Reach out to someone safe
• Or choose quiet, rest, and less input

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is slow down instead of pushing through.

🔥 A Gentle Reframe

Blue Monday does not need to be a sentence.
It can be a check-in point.
A pause.
A moment of recalibration.

A place where we ask:

What does my body, heart and nervous system truly need right now?

And we listen… without judgement.

Because often, beneath the low energy or sadness, there is a deeper intelligence guiding us toward rest, change, truth, or tenderness.

🌙 Closing Thought

You do not have to shine every day.
You do not have to bloom in winter.
Some days are for rooting, not flowering.

And roots… are powerful.

Be gentle with yourself today, my love.
And if you need a reminder:
✨ You are doing beautifully, even on the quiet days ✨

Entering the Void of Eclipse Season…

“Life unfolds like an unseen hand, guiding us toward exactly where we need to be, even when the path isn’t clear.” Hi my loves, - How are you all doing (feeling)? We are now deeply inside the window of the Eclipse Season, and it’s still feeling pretty intense. Deep...
