There are moments in the year that gently invite change – and then there are moments that open something deeper.
This week (May 11–17), sits right at that threshold, because the window surrounding the Taurus New Moon carries that second kind of energy.
Pluto going Retrograde in Aquarius (from 6th May for 5 months) – is already pulling energy inward…
and Mars in Taurus, is activating the body and the nervous system. So this becomes a moment where:
What has been quietly held…
can no longer stay beneath the surface.
This is not just a “plant your intentions” New Moon.
It’s a threshold of truth.
On the surface, Taurus speaks of stability, safety, the body, the earth, but underneath there is pressure building.
We are meeting:
- suppressed anger
- ancient grief
- unmet needs that have lived in the body for years
It can feel like:
- Irritation that comes from nowhere
- Emotional waves that don’t seem to match your current life
- A deep, almost cellular exhaustion
- Or a sense that something old is finally ready to move
The Patriarchal Web Beneath the Surface
why Pluto’s deeper invitation matters…
Pluto moving retrograde in Aquarius is profound
It is revealing not just personal patterns – but the deeper conditioning that has shaped us all.
There is language circulating loudly right now – about the collapse of “patriarchal structures,” and it’s important we meet this with clarity and care.
Because this is not about men vs women.
And it’s not about rejecting the masculine.
It’s about recognising something far more subtle and intricate:
A system of conditioning that has shaped all of us –
regardless of gender.
A system that taught:
- “You are not enough” (a wound often carried in the masculine)
- “You are too much” (a wound often carried in the feminine)
A system that rewarded:
- disconnection from the body
- suppression of emotion
- performance over presence
- control over truth
And this is what is being felt right now – not intellectually, but somatically.
In the nervous system – in the tissues…. in all the places where emotion was never fully processed.
The Rise of Grief & Rage
For many, this week may bring – grief that feels bigger than your personal story, anger that feels ancient – moments of intensity that feel hard to “explain” – and this is where we need to be careful.
Because the mind may try to:
- suppress it
- analyse it
- judge it
- or project it outward
But these feelings need to be able to move through us safely…
Grief, when allowed, softens and opens.
Rage, when held safely, restores boundaries and truth.
These are not enemies. They are life force energies that have been held back for a very long time…. and we need to process these, gently and sacredly. The sooner we do, the sooner we can rebuild both our inner and outer worlds in a more healthy way
The Masculine & Feminine – Revisited
Times are asking us for a more mature understanding, because the masculine and the feminine (that lives in us all) have both been shaped… distorted… and wounded… within the same patriarchal system.
There is so much I could write on this topic (and probably will soon). So rather than focus on what is toxic – for a moment let’s look at what it could look like when we come out from this conditioning, and embrace our human qualities expressed at their highest octave.
Healthy masculine qualities (often referred to as ‘Divine Masculine’) are:
- presence
- direction
- grounded safety
- integrity
Healthy feminine (Divine Feminine’) qualities are:
- flow
- feeling
- intuition
- creative life force
When the system is imbalanced:
- the masculine becomes rigid, controlling, disconnected
- the feminine becomes overwhelmed, silenced, or overextended
Where our deepest health comes from is the rebalancing of both.
So how do we meet this?
Not by forcing release, or bypassing it with “love and light.”
And not by getting lost inside it.
But by creating safe, conscious space for what is arising.
This might look like:
- Slowing down more than usual
- Allowing emotion without needing to understand it
- Moving the body gently (rather than pushing it)
- Being mindful of projection in relationships
- Letting things move through us rather than holding them in place
- Seeking guidance or help from those who have the skills to hold and witness us in our truth. To help bring clarity and acceptance to what is authentic in us, versus what has been inherited through conditioning or misunderstanding.
Because what you are feeling is not “too much…. it just might be something that has never been fully felt by you before.
Mars in Taurus – (when the body speaks)
As Taurus governs the body, Mars activates what is stored there. So when Mars moves through Taurus (as it is now doing), this energy becomes physical.., somatic.., felt.
You may be noticing:
- tension in the body
- frustration without a clear cause
- waves of emotion rising unexpectedly
This is why this week can feel so intense. It’s not just on an emotional level – it’s cellular.
The Taurus New Moon – (rooting through the rubble)
Amongst all of this intensity and huge relational themes – we arrive at the New Moon on Saturday 16th May…
Rather than an escape from the intensity, this will bring an opportunity to stand on firmer ground after much truth has surfaced.
This New Moon offers a powerful question:
What do I want to build…
now that I can feel what was previously hidden?
This is where real intention begins – not from the mind, but from the body.
The Energy begins to shift from earth to air…
As we move beyond this point into Gemini Season, something begins to open.
The heaviness lifts slightly.
Movement returns.
Perspective widens.
And by the time we reach the Sagittarius Full Moon on 30th May, if we have embraced the opportunity to self reflect, there is space to see more clearly.
To understand what has shifted.
To reconnect with a deeper truth.
To begin again – but differently.
Why this matters (and how to move through it)
This moment isn’t asking you to figure everything out, but it is asking you to:
- feel what is ready to be felt
- stay present with what arises
- create safe space for your nervous system
- allow the body to lead, rather than override it
Because this isn’t just emotional release – it’s repatterning.
A space to be held through this
If you are feeling any of this…you are not alone.
And this is exactly why spaces of safe, grounded support matter so much right now.
✨ Sunday 17th May – Intimate mini retreat: soundbath, tension release practices & cacao
Held right in the heart of this New Moon window is an opportunity to gather in a small heart-lead community; where the focus is about encouraging and allowing:
- the body to soften
- the nervous system to regulate
- what is ready to move… to move safely
These evenings are always deeply held, and this one already carries a beautiful sense of trust, with most attendees having experienced this space before. This deeply nourishing evening has been designed for those who feel they’ve been carrying a lot – mentally, emotionally, physically. As we focus on unwinding stress patterns held in the face, jaw, brow and body, the nervous system will be soothed and you’re invited into deep rest.
There are just 2 spaces remaining.
✨ Sunday 31st May – Full Moon Mini Retreat
Then by the time we reach the Sagittarius Full Moon, something begins to open.
Perspective shifts.
Clarity returns.
Energy lifts.
You are invited into a space of stillness… softness… and deep replenishment. A place to step away from the noise of life, and return to something quieter, steadier, and more real within yourself. This evening is a space to:
- integrate what has moved
- reconnect with yourself
- expand gently into what’s next
Closing
This week may not feel light, but it is meaningful.
Something old is loosening, something real is asking to be felt – and if you can meet it with presence, support and compassion, then what emerges from this won’t be chaos.
It will be truth – and from truth – a very different kind of life can begin <3
With love – Penny xx
P.S. If this time is feeling intense for you, please know you don’t have to navigate it alone.
It would be hard not to feel the weight of what’s moving – both personally and collectively – and sometimes having a steady, supportive space to land in can make all the difference.
I’ve been holding this kind of work for over 16 years, supporting people through deep emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and inner transformation. If you feel called to reach out, you’re always welcome to.
